What is Materials Australia?

Materials Australia is the trading name of the Institute of Materials Engineering Australasia Ltd (IMEA) which is a technical society of Engineers, Australia.

Materials Australia provides technical materials support to those in the materials engineering, manufacturing and research industries. This includes written information, training, conferences and seminars.

There are Materials Australia branches in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Wollongong. These branches are the local presence in each state and offer seminars, training and networking opportunities.

Incorporated in Materials Australia is the Engineering Materials Bookshop, a specialist 'virtual' bookshop stocking a wide range of materials engineering publications, CD-ROM's, videos and home-study courses.

Materials Australia publishes a bimonthly magazine, "Materials Australia", specially compiled to provide the most up to date information in the fields of materials engineering. The Institute also publishes Materials Forum, a CD-Rom annual refereed journal which addresses specific technical topics relevant to the industry.

Materials Australia conducts training courses designed to focus on specific industry related materials.

Materials Australia conducts materials related conferences ranging from major international meetings to one-day seminars.
