This conference will take a global perspective on developments in research and technology in Thermal Processing and Surface Engineering and their impact on the global competitiveness of a wide range of industries. The committee invite contributions in the following areas of Research and Technology, click on any topic hyperlink below for additional information:

  • Anodising
  • Duplex Surface Treatment
  • Electro-Forming
  • Electro-plating
  • Heat Treatment
  • High Energy Surface Engineering
  • Materials Modeling and Simulations
  • Mechanical Surface Treatment
  • Plasma Based Processing
  • Process Modeling
  • PVD/CVD
  • Thermal Spraying
  • Thermo-Chemical Processing
  • Thermo-Mechanical Processing
  • Thermo-Reactive Diffusion

Where appropriate, the committee will arrange for technology streams to be organised under Industrial themes, for example:

  • Steel Industry
  • Light Metals
  • Microsystems
  • Tooling
  • Metal Cutting
  • Biomaterials
  • Agriculture
  • Mining

The Conference Organisers are keen to showcase leading edge technologies in dedicated streams. Contact the Conference Secretariat if you wish to promote your technology or industry. Sessions will also feature the latest developments in areas of Testing for Tribological Performance and Corrosion, and Advanced Characterisation, in particular, highlighting the potential for exploitation of beamtime on the new Synchrotron.

Finally, in recognizing the need to reduce the "Ecological Footprint" of engineering operations, the committee are seeking papers dealing with Education and Sustainable practices aimed at zero waste.

A feature of this conference will be the use of workshops covering themes where Knowledge Intensity is impacting on industrial and economic growth in the Far East and South East Asian regions. The workshops will be led by Keynote Presenters and supported by all attendees through discussion.
