You will be part of a newly-formed Material Technology team within the Material Engineering group. The main focus is on selection, development, implementation, characterisation, and failure analysis of polymeric materials like silicones.

Let's talk about Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work closely with a group of highly experienced engineers and technicians to provide technical advice and recommendations. This position requires hands-on experience in characterisation of polymers (i.e., liquid silicone) and investigations of material failures.
To succeed in this role, you are a Technical Leader who has experience in product/process development or relevant experience in a highly regulated environment
and able to perform the following responsibilities:
Proven detailed injection moulding experience and in-depth knowledge of thermoplastics and thermosets, and material selection
A detailed understanding and mature approach to root cause analysis and capable of autonomously solving complex material problems related to design and process.
Identify and evaluate potential cost improvement projects through advanced technologies or material changes.
Provide material engineering support in the uses and applications of polymers in new and existing products. This includes support for proper material selection, specifications, testing, and inspection.
Develop strategic initiative for impactful and sustainable material solutions.
Work closely and build rapport with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop and improve our material library and consolidate the accumulated knowledge into it.
Ensure that all materials are in compliance with all quality standards and procedures; Responsible for ensuring adherence to quality system through creation and update of specifications, metrology setup, design control and qualification, FMEA, and other, as appropriate.
Let's talk about Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with a discipline in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or equivalent science/engineering degree is required.
5+ years of industrial/technical work experience with adequate science/engineering degree
Knowledge of plastics processes, resins, tooling.
Strong background in characterizing and specifying materials and performance in quantitative terms.
Experience in developing materials for high volume manufacturing, particularly in injection moulding.
Preference will be given to candidates with Ph.D, medical device industry experience, process support experience in plastic injection moulding, and knowledge
in FDA Quality System Regulation (QSR) and ISO standards.
